Gary Penrod

GPA’s CEO and Managing Associate continues to build on solid foundations, beginning with his founding of a building services company. After operating that firm for 15 years, it was sold to a firm in the UK. Later, he formed Gary Penrod and Associates, Inc (GPA). He is a recognized speaker within the industry and has authored many articles for Services and other trade publications. Active in Building Services Contractor’s Association, International (BSCAI), he served on its Board for many years and was also its President. Penrod is known for his general business accuracy and his knowledge of the building services industry and the people within its ranks. He is considered by many to be the authority in the merger and acquisition sector of the industry.

Michelle Sullivan Bettez

	Michelle Sullivan Bettez, Administrative Associate, is responsible for providing administrative support for all of GPA’s activity, including transaction analysis.  Originally from Ohio, she now resides in Hilton Head Island, SC with her daughter.  She has 15 years of varied business experience and holds a BS from the University of West Virginia.

John Herbots

John P Herbots has been involved with mergers and acquisition activity in the building contractor services market sector since the late 1990’s, first as CFO for Sanitors, Inc., now ISS-US, and subsequently as a senior associate for Gary Penrod and Associates. He has a long history in mergers and acquisitions as a senior executive with Fairchild Aircraft, Inc., Morrison Knudsen Corporation and Lancer Corporation.  The breadth of his experience includes a number of strategic acquisitions in the US and several foreign countries in manufacturing, product distribution, and service oriented companies. Since joining GPA in 2002, Mr. Herbots has been active in performing preparatory due diligence, appraisals, financial consulting and evaluations for the firm’s clients. Mr. Herbots resides in San Antonio, Texas.  He is a CPA and graduated with degrees in French Literature and Accounting from the University of Maryland.
